Cancerkin

While at uni myself and a couple of friends re-built a website for the breast cancer charity Cancerkin. Cancerkin is a brilliant organisation designed to help patients and their families enhance their wellbeing and meet the challenges bought about by breast cancer and its treatment. Since leaving uni I have had the pleasure of designing them a new pamphlet in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today I sent it off to the printers, exciting stuff! Here's a sneak peak.

She Says

Last night I gave a talk about my work at a She Says event. She Says is a fantastic organisation that helps women get into the creative digital industry. Although slightly nerve wracking, it was a great opportunity to speak infront of industry professionals. Myself and three other lovely ladies presented, Cressida O'Mahony, Jenny Mcevoy, and Sarra Hornby.

FEATURE: Campaign!

The May issue of Campaign magazine features a review of the recent Whatever You Think The Opposite show, including some images from the show including my portraits and some kind words from Graham Fink, Executive Creative Director at M & C Saatchi. Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite -The Show.

Everybody should head down to Petworth this week for Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite -The Show. Inspired by the legacy of the late Paul Arden, Whatever You Think, Think the Opposite, is the title of his second book, and also the inspiration for the forthcoming experimental photography show at Arden and Anstruther Gallery . Myself and a few other Kingston students are exhibiting so come down, show your support and celebrate unconventional thinking!

Wish List

So charming! The Cloud Salt and Pepper Shakers are by product designer Anderson Horta, they're made from rubber you can squeeze then if the salt soidifies. Can't find them to buy unfotunatly, i think they're only conceptal :( so keep your eyes peeled.

50 Sheets A Day

.... is how much paper the average office worker wastes a day.

To highlight the issue I made a weeks calendar out of all the wasted paper I collected in one week and used the universally recognised symbol for paper wastage the paper aeroplane to engage the recipient and deliver the message when folded.

A Device to Combat SAD

Seasonal Affectivity Disorder is a syndrome that affects all of us in one way or another but for some it can be a far more serious, a condition so bad that some sufferers don’t even leave their houses.

The Come Rain or Shine umbrella can be used as a parasol in the summer months, it’s flexible solar strips absorb & store the energy needed to power the 10,000 lux LEDs that will brighted up even the gloomies of winter days. The kaleidoscopic detailing refers to another example where light brings things to life and also mirrors the octagonal shape and paneling of the umbrella.

Hometowns

An illustration celebrating my home town of Byfleet. Riddled with history, I wished to use the child as a contrast to the old and to represent my childhood. The peice mentions both the famous Brooklands racetrack and nods to the many past Kings and Queens that have resided in the village's Manor House.
